Shouson Hill is a hill (approx 150 m high) on the coast of Deep Water Bay east of Wong Chuk Hang onHong Kong Island in Hong Kong. It is also an upmarket residential area located just to the north of the hill. The area consists primarily of Shouson Hill Road, a loop off the main Wong Chuk Hang Road, together with a few side roads.
The hill is named after Chow Shouson, who was born in the village and became a senior official in the Qing Dynasty before the 1911 Revolution and then an active businessman and politician in Hong Kong.
It offers a quiet and leafy environment with many low-rise apartments and deluxe villas apartment and townhouses in the area. Most complexes have pools and/or communal gardens. There are views of Aberdeen, tree-lined hillside and the South China Sea from many of the dwellings here.
Access to public transport is easy and convenient. There are several bus routes that serve the area. The Aberdeen Tunnel and the Deep Water Bay Road are providing quick routes. Amenities are a little scarce here, but it is a short trip to the shops of Repulse Bay or to Hong Kong Parkview which has services.
The famous theme park in Hong Kong, Ocean Park lies just nearby. The Hong Kong Golf Club and the Marina Club are also here, making the region hot to the country club crowd. Deep Water Bay’s beach is reputed to be one of Hong Kong’s nicest. The South Island School is also located here.
