Mid-Levels Central is an expensive and prestigious residential area on Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. It is located halfway up Victoria Peak, directly above Central. Residents are mostly affluent local and expat professionals.
Mid-Levels Central includes the area of Macdonnell Road, Kennedy Road and Bowen Road. These areas are populated by the middle class. Most of the housing are apartments, such as Fairlane Towers, Birchwood Place, Regence Royale, etc.
Many of the roads in this area are within walking distance of the Central Business District, which is accessible by the Mid-Levels escalator from Central. The Central–Mid-Levels escalator cuts through the Mid-Levels, from Central to Conduit Road. It allows people to travel quickly between these two places, compared with traveling by the winding roads up the mountain.
Many prestigious colleges and schools can be found in Mid-Levels, the most historical and famous schools being probably the University of Hong Kong, King's College, Ying Wa Girls' School and St. Joseph's College.
