Discovery Bay is a mixed, primarily residential, development comprising a residential development and private and public recreational facilities in Hong Kong. It is situated on the north-eastern coast of Lantau Island in the New Territories. The development spans an area of 650 hectares, and includes two bays, the Tai Pak Bay and Yi Pak Bay. Discovery Bay is a complete reversal to the busy, cluttered life in the rest of Hong Kong.
Accommodation is diversified in this area. The housing ranges from high-rise apartments to low-rises and townhouses all within a spacious, green environment. Buildings are spread out over two bays whether right next to the beach, up on the headlands or on the hills, all offering views of either the sea or the mountains. Many sea view apartments have the privilege of viewing the spectacular Disneyland firework displays without the noise and on a clear night, the firework displays in Victoria Harbour can also be seen.
As private cars are not permitted into Discovery Bay, it allows clean, fresh air and the perfect environment for families with children.
Ferry is the major transportation in Discovery Bay. Followed the opening of tunnel to Tung Chung, residents can enjoy a bus-ride to Tung Chung MTR station linking you the rest of Hong Kong; while buses to the Hong Kong International Airport connects you to the rest of the world.
