Happy Valley is made up of upper income residential areas, and its residents include of a mix of Hong Kong natives and foreigners. Two of the tallest residential buildings in Hong Kong, "Highcliff" and "The Summit" are located in Happy Valley facing Mount Nicholson. Happy Valley has a more convert location than Causeway Bay, therefore attracted celebrities to stay.
Happy Valley has a quiet environment as there are no nightclubs nearby. Along Sing Woo Road, Shan Kwong Road and Blue Pool Road, there are many fine dining restaurants and hotels which are populated by celebrities and artisits. Happy Valley is also the setting of a lot of TV dramas. Meanwhile, the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government has purchased many condominium units in Happy Valley, so it is inhabited by a large number of staff from the Liaison Office.
The community is served by the trams. Residents can access the Causeway Bay MTR station via minibuses.
